Ear Cuff Reef Fine Silver Shirley Blanch
From the Brand
Shirley Blanch creates handmade author jewelry from Chile, between the mountains and the sea. Working with silver, gold, and natural stones, she lets the materials guide the forms — never imposing a shape, but allowing one to emerge. Each piece is a small, soulful work carrying time, craft, and intention, made for women who adorn themselves with purpose.
No two pieces are ever identical. Each jewel becomes a singular expression of transformation, celebrating the beauty of imperfection and the uniqueness found in nature.

Technique
Sand Casting is one of the oldest metal casting techinques in the history of jewerly making. It involves creating a mold from specially prepared sand int which molten metal is poured form the final piece.
Unlike other casting methods, the natural texture of the sand leaves a subtle imprint on the metal, giving each surface an organic character an a distinctive quality that can never be replicated exactly.
What draws me most to this techinque is its connection to the earliest traditions of the craft. There is a unique beauty in allowing the material itself to influence the final result. Every casting reveals subtle variations that make each jewel one of a kind, where the strength of metal and the spontaneity of the processs exist in perfect harmony.
