Technique

Keum Boo is an ancient Korean gilding technique that permanently bonds a thin layer of 24-karat pure gold to sterling silver using only heat and pressure—without solder or adhesives. The result is a lasting union in which both precious metals retain their natural beauty, creating a refined contrast between the warmth of gold and the luminous character of silver.
In my work, Keum Boo is more than a technical process. It is a way of introducing subtle moments of light that seem to emerge naturally from the surface of the metal.
